Personal Traffic Warner is an app to assist you when driving by car or bicycle by an acoustic and optical signal when you are approaching to dangerous locations. You define which locations are dangerous for you by simply tapping on the given map to create a red marker, a warning point. Those warning points you set at locations for example where in the past you almost caused an accident because a bicycle path suddenly ended or where you missed a traffic sign for speed reduction and had to pay a penalty.
DATA PROTECTION
Personal Traffic Warner is a Google Playstore app.
It is the app of an experienced private programmer, in the Playstore named as Lou Side. The email-address for contacts is Carambeau@gmail.com, also info@carambeau.com is possible.
The app requires your precise location (you have to give permission for it before), but it nowhere stores or evaluates your location data and it's not given to anywhere/anyone. The location data of the warning points are only stored on your mobile phone (internally or sdcard) so when next time starting the app they are available.
The app's work is to compare your location data (GPS-coordinates) with your warning points (also GPS-coordinates). The app also finds out about the distance in meters between your last two locations (the last two GPS-coordinates). This is an information about your current speed that is required to not miss a warning point. This speed information also nowhere is stored or evaluated or given to anywhere/anyone.
As mentioned above the app also needs internet access for geocoding, which provides the transforming of the GPS-coordinates of your current location and warning points to addresses shown on the display. These addresses are nowhere stored, evaluated or given to anywhere/anyone.
The internet access is also needed to make a connection to this website, so the programmer has the chance to stop the using of an alread installed app by removing that connection.
At least also for advertising internet is required.
Future Changes of the Data Protection for new updates will be announced in the Release Notes of the Play Store.
REQUIRED PERMISSIONS
Personal Traffic Warner is meant to assist you in traffic to avoid dangerous situation by giving you the chance to set warning points (red markers) in the map at such locations.
So you have to give permission to the app so it is able to evaluate your precise current location. The app compares your current location with the warning points and for not to miss one (GPS signals are sent just about every 6 or 7 seconds) it also evaluates your driving speed.
The app also uses the Android geocoding library to give you informations about the current address or the address of the warning point when setting it. Herefore Internet access is required.
The app also is connected with the (this) app's website by Internet. If the website is not available, the app also isn't.
And also the app stores your warning points on your phone, so next time you start the app you'll find the warning points you defined before. So the app needs write/read - access on your phone.
